The electric supply has been errattic. A surveyor is coming on 30th Nov.
I only realised that the tightly packed fridge - and therefore the freezer - had no power a few moments ago, when I opened the fridge and the light did not come on. The fridge/freezer itself seems okay; it was switched off at the plug. That makes it about 98% to 2% that I turned it off in error at about 5 on Friday - instead of turning off the cooking ring for safety after the light bulbs kept on blowing... The two switches are next to each other.
The stuff is thawed. The freezer is littered with smallish chunks of still frozen ice but the bags of veg are soggy... It's not bits of frozen veg moving against each other. They have thawed.
We are awaiting the big freeze and my scooter won't run in very cold conditions. Severe weather warnings are out and we were warned to stock up on food. The stuff in the freezer should have lasted a couple of weeks, three at a pinch.
I don't know what, if any, of the stuff that was in there is safe. (I've only had a freezer since i moved.)
