[Error: unknown template qotd] I do tend to confront them, and more aggressively if it seems to be distressing someone else. Racists and/or disablists are the most likely to find that they've sowed a breeze and reaped a storm.

However, friends or relatives were never likely to make remarks like that. I'm more likely to try to make people laugh at the colleague/aquaintaince who does it than to get obviously angry.
