I am trying to be positive and optimistic.

(This is only a cold [or perhaps an allergy.] Sneezing is a classic symptom - even though that rash is ... unusual.)

Even if a pandemic starts a relatively inexperienced committee would not be the first line of defence.
Decisions would be made by experienced professional politicians and civil servants.

I decided to relax for a few minutes and watch some comedy to get my mind off it all.

With the benefit of hindsight, after careful and mature consideration, I am not sure if, "Yes Prime Minister" was actually the best choice...

I hate AIM, just at the moment. It wouldn't let me set up a new identity unless I downloaded something. By the time I'd done that it registered the name all in capitals - so I revived an old ID.

I was trying to log in, intermittantly, from 6p.m., finally managed it at around 10. By then the friend I was hoping to see had probably gone.

(ETA; in the end I was online until safter 3 a.m., not sensible at all.)
