This may be a difficult evening and night. I am on one set dose of insulin a day. It looks as though I may have taken it twice.

The long version is that I've been very weak for no reason I can pin down and I've also been awake for a few hours, then asleep, twice or more in a day. (I've also been very anxious about certain things, and not thinking well - so messed up I couldn't even write a letter or e-mail properly. I'm still having trouble even filling in a form.)

Blood sugar way up, possibly/probably because I forgot meds and/or insulin. It's difficult to be sure because of the 7 or 8 hours awake to 4 asleep thing. Anyway, today should have been an important committee meeting and a class.

I was so weak I didn't trust myself to have the strength to drive the scooter to the meeting. If I went in by taxi I'd have had to walk at both ends of the trip and I have not got the strength for that. Despite a long nap by day I couldn't face the class, which will have on-going effects; (and I can't write and explain.)

You may have the virus that is going around over on this side of the pond, too. Or at least in this household. Weakness, fatigue, rapid heart-rate, anxiety/depression...

*hugs*

good luck!

Thank you, that does sound like the symptoms, especially weakness, fatigue and depression; I'd noticed the heart-rate, too. Do you know how long it lasts, please?

I so wish I could swoop in and get you down to a decent doctor, for a full MOT and proper investigation of all problems! It seems from this distance that so much difficulty and pain is caused by simple medical negligence, repeated over and over every time you try to get help.

Weakness, loss of memory, are both symptomatic of high blood sugar. Have you had a diabetes review lately? If it's a virus, being weakened already from medical neglect could enable it to last for some weeks. May I recommend http://www.naturesbest.co.uk/turmeric-tablets-10000mg-p135/?sessionid=96cca9db3dfd51050b40c0a2f1e7b5ada3a57104 for relief of inflammation and joint pain, as well as regulating the mental 'fuzziness' of high blood sugar. Himself takes two tablets every day, and we've proved they keep his hands working well.

Thank you - I wish you could, too.

I think you are right. My last diabetic review was almost 4 months ago and it's starting to look as though the emergencies, etc. started having a bad physical affect immediately afterwards. (A member of the clergy then made things a lot worse.)

I'll be getting the blood test forms and getting on with that first thing on Monday morning, but I'll have to talk to the GP before taking an over-the-counter remedy because I take a lot of pills.
